Kamakura Flowers
It is the Ajisai (Hydrangea) flower season, and what better place to go and see flowers than Kamakura. On a nice friday my friends and I headed out to see some temples and flowers…
Sugimotodera 杉本寺
The oldest temple in Kamakura
Hōkokuji 報国寺
Famous for the bamboo.
Also popular is drinking Matcha while looking at the bamboo and garden
Jōmyōji 浄妙寺
Has cats.. and nice flowers too.
Jyōjyūin 成就院
Has lots of Ajisai.
Lastly, a walk on Kamakura beach

There are nice hydrangeas in the backyard, but those are really good. Also the bamboo forest behind the orange grove is not as good as that. It must rain a lot there.

Comment by Eiji — 6/22/2009 @ 2:33 amHad to look up Kamakura on the map. I want to go there. Looks like the old Tokaido line takes you there from Yokohama. There are so many interesting places a short train ride away.
