Clouds
I am finally posting some pictures I took last weekend of the strange clouds we had. It was the day before a typhoon came through Tokyo and it was very windy. The clouds looked very strange in the sky and I saw wierd things like clouds moving really fast past other clouds going in the other direction.

Wow, nice pictures, especially the first one, it looks almost like floating foam. I’m a big fan of cloud pictures, I use them in my webdesign quite a bit too.
How is the visibility at night by the way? Are the stars all blocked out due to smog (like good ol’ LA County)?
Comment by Jeff — 6/24/2004 @ 9:29 amThose oval shaped clouds are lenticular clouds. Your second pic has a perfect example of it. I’ve never seen one in Quantico, except in textbooks. Terrain such as mountains cause fast moving air to flow up and down like roller coasters or hills.
Comment by けん — 6/24/2004 @ 3:37 pmThe last pic looks like normal high cirrus clouds which are pushed ahead of the storm by the approaching front.
Those are sweet shots. I meant to take some pics that day but I didn’t get around to it . . . hope you enjoyed your first (?) typhoon!
Comment by Peter — 6/26/2004 @ 8:53 pmI know you’ll probably never read this, but these clouds are manmade. Research HAARP and chemtrails. An abomination.
