A bunch of people from my building decided that it would be a good idea to go have a BBQ. The location: Sarushima, which literally translates into Monkey Island. I don’t know if it is like the game or not because we never really got to the island. Although the weather report said that it would clear up in the afternoon it never did stop raining all day. By the time we got to the ferry terminal we figured that there would be no way to have a BBQ. Luckily for us there was another option. On that same day there was a festival in Yokosuka and since there was a festival the US Navy base was open to the public. We watched the festival and went to the base to get some American culture and food. Although it was nice to visit the base again, I was not overly enthralled. I am still American and things American are still just the same boring things. I was surprised by how much I remember of the Yokosuka area even though it has been an incredibly long time since I last visited. I guess it was still nice to have a day out to socialize and get some exercise.
