  2. because it’s out of that hooligan Ernie’s reach and hopefully the leaves will conceal you from him. It is very doubtful that he will climb up after you, and even if he does, you can climb up higher to where the thin branches won’t support the weight of two people.
    Did it suddenly occur to you up there that you were going to win, Mister Swan?
