Takao Again

Here is Mt. Fuji as seen from where I live. Yes, I could see Mt. Fuji from my house! It was supposed to rain Sunday, but instead, when I woke up we had the most brilliantly clear and warm day. After staring at Mt. Fuji for 20 minutes though the wires, I decided to climb Mt. Takao yet again. Since it was a Sunday, I got two of my friends to go with me as well…

The weather was absolutely perfect there. Also, there were very few people as not many Japanese are as spontaneous as I when it comes to traveling. I took path 6 this time to be different from the last time I climbed Mt. Takao. It was surprisingly beautiful at points…

My friend Takeshi decided to run all the way up the stairs to the summit, and he also forgot to bring something to drink, so here he is at the top suffering from dehydration. At least that was my guess, and he seemed to get better after I bought him an ‘Aquarius’ (Japanese Gatorade)…

We reached the top in the afternoon after a slightly late start, so the sun was in the camera’s lens, thus these pictures do not come anywhere close to the beauty of Mt. Fuji…

I had to take a picture in the same spot as last time at the top…

On the way down, I stopped and looked out upon the entirety of the Tokyo prefecture. Like I stated before, the weather was perfect. It was the most clear I have ever seen Japan. I spent at least 30 minutes gazing out across Tokyo, yet I could also clearly see Yokohama and parts of Saitama…

At the bottom we came across a restaurant with a man making fresh soba…

It was an expensive place, but well worth it as I had some of the best soba ever…

  4. No, Ken, you shouldn’t. There are many ‘Takeshi’s in Japan.
