After walking around Tokyo in the cold all day, I asked Suzuna "What do you want for dinner?”, to which she replied "Anko Nabe”. A very rare delicacy that is not found easily, I think she mentioned it as a joke, but if my memory serves me correctly we were near the same area where I had Anko Nabe for the fist time myself with Mr. Hara. I thought it would be a nice surprise to walk her right to the same place…

One of my friends from Okinawa runs a small cafe in Jinbocho, near where I used to work, but I have never had the chance to go there. Suzuna and I were up in Tokyo for a haircut, so we finally decided to go for lunch. The food was excellent, as expected, and if it wasnt so far I would love to go more often.

In the same park area as the old houses is the Okamoto TARO museum. I have never heard of him, but apparently he is a pretty famous Japanese artist. Well, it depends what you think art is..

We went to a park where old and historic houses from around Japan are relocated. Along with old houses to explore there were lots of elderly volunteers there to explain about the old houses and give workshops on straw weaving, basket making, tea ceremony, and other old Japanese traditions. One of the houses was used as a Soba restaurant for lunch.

Three years ago for Veterans day weekend I visited Hakone with my girlfriend. On that trip we tried to climb to the top of Mt. Kami but due to unclear weather we stopped part way up and took the boat across the lake instead. Now, exactly three years later and with absolutely great weather we tried again.
